Application package

New Palladium Applications: Best Scientific Development
Applications for entry to this category should include:
- detailed description of a scientific development, containing a precise, unambiguous description of the properties of the palladium-based material and corresponding potential new industrial application for palladium;
- documentary evidence of the applied nature of the scientific development (test report, implementation report, other supporting document);
- documentary confirmation of the participant’s authorship (official letter from the organisation in any format, alternative document);
- patent for the scientific development or its individual elements* (where available);
- published scientific articles written by the participant or abstracts for scientific conferences (where available);
- CV containing information about the participant: full name, phone number, email address, list of titles, awards (where available), achievements and positions held (including previous places of work).
Applications will be given higher consideration if supported by an analytical review similar to that required for entries to the New Palladium Applications: Best Applied Concept category.
*Applications for participation in the competition may be accompanied by the submission of international and/or national patents, conclusions made by relevant agencies/councils/research centres, and letters of recommendation. Applications may be accompanied by documents confirming that applications for patent rights are under consideration by the relevant patent office, or that scientific journals have accepted articles that are being prepared for publication.
New Palladium Applications: Best Scientific Article
Applications for entry to this category should include:
- the scientific article*;
- justification, containing a precise, unambiguous description of the properties of the palladium-based material and corresponding potential new industrial application for palladium;
- CV containing information about the participant: full name, phone number, email address, list of titles, awards (where available), achievements and positions held (including previous places of work).
Applications will be given higher consideration if supported by an analytical review similar to that required for entries to the New Palladium Applications: Best Applied Concept category.
*Both published scientific articles and articles that have been accepted by scientific journals and which are being prepared for publication (with the corresponding official confirmation) can be submitted to the competition.
New Palladium Applications: Best Applied Concept
Applications for entry to this category should include:
- analytical review, all findings in which are accompanied by active links to sources, including:
- description of the proposed product (type of product, description of how it functions in a product or technology), the role and advantages of palladium, and the problems solved by the palladium-based product;
- expert assessment of palladium content in the proposed product and estimate of share that can be extracted through recycling;
- approximate estimate of the market size for the proposed product and trend forecast;
- analysis of competitive advantage of the applicant’s product compared to existing products in terms of cost, key properties and lifetime;
- analysis of prospects for product implementation (assessment of implementation time frame taking into account complexity of development, testing and the need for additional investment in the final product, if the proposed product is not final, e.g. a catalyst).
- CV containing information about the participant: full name, phone number, email address, list of titles, awards (where available), achievements and positions held (including previous places of work), list of most important scientific publications (where available).
